IUCN PAPACO Website with RAPPAM, METT and EoH Assessments in Africa

English

The IUCN Programme on African Protected Areas & Conservation (PAPACO) has, over the years, supported many evaluations of protected area management effectiveness (PAME) in Africa, with a focus on Central and Western Africa. These evaluations were carried out at different levels - site level, national level or regional level - and using different methodologies. These methodologies included the Rapid Assessment and Prioritization of Protected Area Management (RAPPAM), the Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT) and the Enhancing our Heritage (EoH) Toolkit.

The IUCN PAPACO website has a dedicated section where the RAPPAM, METT and EoH evaluations are available:

More information about the different PAME methodologies is available here: https://rris.biopama.org/pame/tools
