In May of 2005, Launchpad Consulting, was contracted by the National Protected Areas Project and System Plan (NPAPSP) task force to conduct an Assessment of Management Capacity of eight (8) protected areas in Belize. The objectives of the commission were stated as follows: (i) to assess the capacity in the management of 8 protected areas in the Protected Areas System and provide recommendations on ways to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in the management of these sites; (ii) recommend strategies and actions to improve management capacity of the protected areas system based on the finds using the 8 sites.
